Danko Jones Live in Stockholm is approved by the band and official DVD, but it's not made by the band. They've been working on their own DVD which will come out... soon we hope! I have a feeling that it will be a pretty damn good one.

That's exciting news Milkei! What kind of stuff will it contain? Are you allowed to give us any clues? The stuff that Haakon and Steveclem were talking about sounds good too...shame I don't have anything to trade. Where do you guys find this stuff?

Beers, in regards to the you-tube footage, I've been using firefox3 as my browser for a while, and haven't yet found a compatible video downloader ( like the one you could use to download youtube vids in firefox2.) It's only a matter of time before someone comes up with one that works with firefox3.
I save a lot of stuff on playlists in my youtube account, but some Danko stuff, particulary interviews, have been pulled off you-tube now. I'm kicking myself for not downloading them while I had a chance!

Big thanks to Beercellar,I now have the Danko Jones dvd Rock am Ring 2006.
That Hultsfred dvd on youtube was posted by a guy in Croatia if I remember rightly.I did send him a couple of messages to see if I could get a copy but to no avail...shame.Ive got the audio cd of the gig but would like the dvd.

Its not perfect but i set up my camcorder and film my laptop complete with surround sound.Zoom in so you just get the video and not the edge of the laptop. Then transfer to my dvd recorder, then on a dvd disc. Not perfect but i can then watch it on my 40'' tv.
Ive just done that with that Melweg gig on fabchannel.

The only way to build up a bootleg dvd collection is by talking to other collectors on here and searching on google for other traders. There are websites just for music dvd trading.I have loads of dvds ranging from Metallica,Motorhead through to ac/dc,Offspring etc.If you want a list email steveclem@fsmail.net

Just waiting for that Amsterdam gig on Fabchannel....

I have no clues what's going to be on the DVD to be honest, all i know is that whatever it is, it will be topnotch rock'n'roll. :)

Still waging war on the flu, Beers, with the help of a bottle of olbas oil. Though my foot and lower leg are still stiff and painful, it's improving. The muscles have wasted away, ( looks a bit freaky,) and the nerves are still unresponsive, so I'm having physio to help me learn to walk with walking aids.
Clem and Beers, you guys have given me an idea. I've got loads of 'headbangers ball' footage from the late '80's to early '90's on video tape. There's a lot of good stuff there, but I need to find someone with the hardware to edit and convert video to dvd. I'm not sure how the sound quality will turn out as it was taped from pre-digital astra satellite signal. Think the sound might actually have been broadcast in mono! ::)
Has anyone else tried to convert old video footage to dvd? What were the results like?

Wouldn't it be great if Danko released a dvd with all their promo videos on dvd just like Metallica did with their videos.Better still, how about a dvd along the lines of Judas Priests' Electric Eye,a mix of full length gigs,tv appearances and promo vids. We've had the unofficial dvd,Live in Stockholm, lets have something more up to date. That Paradiso gig on Fabchannels goes to show how good Danko Jones is on stage,Its about time this talk of an official dvd release came to reality.

Isn't it about time we had an official Danko Jones dvd.How hard can it be for a record company sort this out.Especially now we've lost those gigs on fabchannel.
Why not buy the rights for that Paradiso gig and release that?
Or if they can't do that at least release a dvd with all the promo videos on.

Come on you lot at Bad Taste,I know you read this cos you've contacted me for dvds in the past after reading my previous posts.

What does the future hold for an official Danko Jones dvd?????

Hey SteveC...I've been wondering about the dvd myself, as have a lot of other fans. I did ask about it on the new forum but got no reply ( but I kinda got used to being ignored on there lol ::) .) Then someone else asked about it a short while ago and got a fairly prompt reply from Danko. He said that they had so much great footage filmed over the years it was getting difficult to sift through it all and choose material for the dvd.
It's turning into a 'chinese democracy' waiting process, isn't it! Personally, I just think they were enthusiastic about the idea some time ago but it all got put aside to concentrate on NTL, B-Sides and touring. Now they're excited about the forthcoming new album...and I'm excited to hear it too.
I've got to say though...I wasn't at all convinced by Danko's answer about the delay; it felt to me like a stalling tactic and that he's holding his cards pretty close to his chest. I get a little gut feeling that there's something else going on ;). I hope it's a positive thing...like maybe they're thinking about putting the dvd out with the new album as a limited edition? Or saving it for the next 'B-sides' package?
