Just listened to the first single of "Never too Loud", and I must say that I am very very pleased! After hearing about Danko`s "new" musical direction I was very eager to get a listen myself, and somewhat sceptical to what I might hear. However, "Take me home" is everything but a dissapointment. Its a cathy melodic rock tune, more poppier than we`ve heard Danko before, but still in the true Danko spirit. Cant wait to see the crowd jump up and down to this song during gigs! Musically I think this is a step in the right direction for Danko Jones. Although the Danko "recepie" is far from used up, its very easy to repeat one self in that kinda rock genre, and I think that they with this new album will open up all kinds of doors for the band. Check out this link for Danko playing an ACOUSTIC version of "Take me home"! www.nrk.no/p3tv/On the right hand side you`ll also find a live session with Danko and Garcia

Thanks "I Like To Ball". That was the very first time I did that song by myself and on an acoustic. I like the song too.

I found it a few days ago through a link someone posted on the 'Never Too Loud' facebook group....and Oooh, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside .Danko, this is something special, it really is! Beautiful lyrics and so good to hear you sing like this (it's a bit like the end part of 'my love is bold'.) It's like having the privilege to be there while you're running through a new song in the recording studio, not something we'd get to hear during a Danko Jones show. I feel like we've been given a rare treat here...if only there was some way to save this vid 'cos it will disappear as the site gets updated. Would the station let you put the footage up on any of your sites as a keepsake for us? Please ..could we have an acoustic version of this song as an extra track on an upcoming single?

Lol I remember when I was the only one who liked "if I were you" and everyone made fun of me for liking dankos sappy side. And here I am on the other side now. That was just a really weird experience for me. I know the band, are a group of people, who want to make music. And as people, they grow and change and evolve and experiment...and do all of the wonderful things we as human beings do. Nobody wants to remain in a box, or be a one trick pony and I understand that. Peoples styles and views change over time. And the band has been through a lot. But...its just weird for me to see danko doing accoustic and almost singing with a twang. I thought I liked the softer side. I guess I only like one side of danko jones. Who knew? I guess Im stuck in the past and set in my ways.

There's just no comparison between this version of Take Me Home and If I Were You.
Take Me Home is a WAAAY better song and I like this acoustic version so much that I'm almost worried I won't like the full "plugged in" version as much!
A song like this - a simple song about (I think) homesickness - works really well with a minimalist approach. And Danko's performance was perfect.
But okay, I'm going to calm the fuck down because I haven't even heard the Never Too Loud version yet.

Lovercall and Sticky situation used to be my favorite Danko songs, but after I bought the new album, Take Me Home has become one of the new favorites. I love it! And I'm new on the board btw Hello =D

Hello 2 you too, welcome aboard. Always good to see the scandinavian crew expanding. Lovercall is a classic, and sticky situation rocks too. But Take Me Home has that effect, just keeps coming back in the back of my mind too.

Welcome to the family smurfette! I love Take Me Home. Makes you wanna go on a roadtrip and then go back and sing this song really loud. On top of that, I've always thought the definition of "Home" was "Where my records are". Brilliant.
