MTV today revealed the host, nominations and a selection of performers and presenters for the 10th annual ceremony, to take place at the Ocean Terminal Arena, Edinburgh on 6 November 2003.
This year's clear front-runner in the Awards race is Justin Timberlake with five nominations - for Best Album (Justified), Best Male, Best Pop, Best New Act, and Best Song (Cry Me A River). Justin worked with songwriting and production heavyweights The Neptunes and Timbaland on his debut solo album - the Best Album-nominated Justified.
Following closely behind Justin with four nominations are Awards host Christina Aguilera - nominated for Best Album (Stripped), Best Female, Best Pop, and Best Song (Beautiful) and The White Stripes, who are up for Best Album (Elephant), Best Rock, Best Group and Best Video.
Hosting this year's awards will be Christina Aguilera, with additional help from Jane's Addiction and confirmed performing live so far at this years event is Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, The Chemical Brothers, The Flaming Lips, Travis, with many more to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
For the first time in MTV Europe Music Awards history, the winners of the Best Song category will be voted for live by SMS text messaging during the Awards. MTV Europe viewers vote for the winners of all other award categories online across MTV Europe's network of 12 websites - with the exception of the winner of Best Video award, which will be chosen exclusively by MTV Europe. The Web Award is voted for exclusively online by MTV website users.

The nominations for 22 of these have been compiled by MTV Europe's voting academy of 1100 people - consisting of key figures from the European music industry and MTV viewers from across Europe. The remaining 2 categories (Best Video and The Web Award) were nominated by MTV Europe.
