I put this thread here because here´s also that Saku Koivu thing, but hey, come to the point! Yees, I think it would be a great idea if we should have a thread about ice hockey, talking about teams, players, coaches, seasons, leagues, World Championships and so on...what do you say?

Hey I'm a hockey nut, so I agree it's a great idea.

I like hockey as well. However, we need to start some sort of topic here - we can't all just say "Hockey Good."
But, I have no ideas...so, some come up with something!

Alright, here's a few things hockey related to discuss.
Who do you think will win the East this year and same with the West.
Personally, I still think Ottawa will take the East and meet Colorado in the final

Ottawa constantly cannot come through in the later rounds of the playoffs. I'd be surprised to see them this year. Colorado may have some injury problems yet... if they are healthy, no one will touch them.
New Jersey is always strong in the East.

There are certainly some serious goaltending issues in Ottawa. If Lalime can play even just solid and not necessarily spectacular, I think the Sens will go a long way. How far do you think my Habs will make it?

Well if both Ottawa and Vancouver get any goaltending at all , we could see this exciting all-Canadian final, featuring many stars from Sweden, Finland and Czech ;D...but if i was a betting man, my money is on the two hockey machines : Devils-Red Wings final

Ribeiro demonstrated his playmaking wizardry that game. Ryder should continue to benefit from it.

if i was a betting man, my money is on the two hockey machines : Devils-Red Wings final Detroit has a lot of great players, but a finals appearance is contingent on the play of just one: Curtis Joseph.

You can't really argue with what he's done in the playoffs over the years for St. Louis, Edmonton and Toronto - stealing games and even series - but until he wins that big one, he will always have his detractors..

You can't really argue with what he's done in the playoffs over the years for St. Louis, Edmonton and Toronto - stealing games and even series - but until he wins that big one, he will always have his detractors.. The only series I ever recall him stealing was when he was with the Oilers and they upset the Dallas Stars that one year. When Cujo was with St. Louis back in 93, he made some great saves against the Leafs in the playoffs but it wasn't enough to eliminate them. And the biggest factor of all that seperates Cujo from greatness like guys like Roy, and Brodeur is the fact that he could never win the big games for the Leafs. He was often praised by the Toronto media as some goaltending messiah, but he failed to even play one Stanley Cup final game. I think even the most ardent Leaf fan will tell you Cujo failed to come up big in big time games for them. So yes, he is overrated.

Do you follow the Icehockey World Championship in Canada? Now that´s something I call hockey

We don't follow the World Championships as closely here because it is usually going on at the same time as the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Good tournament though.

What do you guys think about the commitments of Todd Bertuzzi? It looks really bad for him. If he goes to jail, do you think he will end his career as a hockey player for good when he is released from prison if that ever happens?
