Hi, Since I got my new digital SLR-camera in December, I really enjoy taking concert photos from all the bands I get to see live. (You can see some of my shots here) So can anyone tell me the "official policy" of the band concerning fans that want to take pictures? With my semi-professional equipment I might get in trouble with venues and promoters. Is there anyone who might be able to help me? Im planing to visit the Cologne show at March 28th. thx. Marc

Get in touch with the tourmanager or get in touch with promotors. Be nice, be curtious, suck up a bit and be lucky.
That's how I started and still get my photoaccess.

The band's official policy is that *they* do not mind photos being taken--however, some venues do not allow cameras and the band DOES NOT override that policy. As a result, you should always check with the venue. If the venue permits cameras, the band has no problem with you using them.
Keep in mind that I'm talking about shooting from the floor and paying to get in. If you are associated with the press or anything like that and are looking for special access press access or any of that other stuff, you must talk to the promoters or tour manager as Beast suggests.
