band 1: Die Manequin Missed em band 2: El Guapo Stunt Team Loes kinda liked em, I didn't band 3: Danko Jones Who? ;D No photopass for me this time. Had a small pocket cam to test from work. So, as cameraquality goes, as you can see below, it's pretty much shite. (Reminder not to get a Casio S10, like evAr). But it actually makes pretty decent videofiles. Max of 10 mins and easy convertable to Youtube. I'm also quite surprised by the quality of the sound. But the videopart came in pretty darn handy as you can see Sticky Situation King of Magazines Baby Hates Me www.youtube.com/watch?v=bdNvieODzBoMore video's to come as I upload em. Including a video of the girl who got Pwnd by Danko during Mountain... And here are some pix I took. Yes, that's THE flag! Waiting for the train... *SNORE*

Waiting for the Mountain video..that was hilarious.. quite some fruit loops in the crowd, like the crowdsurfer that got on stage and started cheering like a madman, the other crowdsurfer that dived in the crowd and wasn't catched by anyone (you could hear an *OUCH* going through the crowd) and a silly couple in the front row who spent most of the DJ set being horny towards each other (it wasn't attractive to watch though..) Erm, if DJ turns you on as a couple, it's easier and cheaper to stay at home, dim the lights, put a DJ CD on and let the magic happen, right?

So how was Die Mannequin Esther? They're starting to be played a decent amount on the radio over here... How were they live? Cool! She talked to us before the show how we were doing and those things, I really appreciated her for doing it, so I did really like her. The gig was vigorous, even though they played only 5 songs, it was really powerful. At the end of the gig she jumped into the crowd and went further with playing the song, after a while we had to turn her back up stage to let her finish the show.

For the people who would like to know the exact setlist, here it is: 1: Code Of The Road 2: Samuel Sin 3: Play The Blues 4: Sticky Situation 5: King Of Magazines 6: Baby Hates Me 7: First Date 8: Take Me Home 9: Wait A Minute 10: Forget My Name 11: Still In Highschool 12: Sugar High 13: Invisible 14: Never Too Loud 15: Lovercall 16: Cadillac 17: Mountain 18: City Streets 19: Way To My Heart 20: I'm Alive And On Fire Got the setlist from Corey, one of the regular roadies/soundengineer. Thx Man! Quick review, I liked DIE MANNEQUIN! because of the stage performance. It wasn't quite my kind of music, but they were rocking straight forward. El Guapo Stunt Team did what it was supposed to do, play southern style bluesrock. They didn't surprise in any way but did deliver on the spot. Too bad the sound was not really tuned to perfection by the local soundengineers, for both first bands it was lacking clarity. On to the main event: Danko, Dan and JC. Came on with new material and hit off with Code of the Road. Great song to hear live, and worked well to get the crowd going. After that a quick alternation back to older material, Samuel Sin and Play the Blues. Old time favorites of mine, so extra credit for that. The rest of the show had a good balance between older and new material. I didn't get the feeling you sometimes get with promo shows for new albums, that a band is solely playing new material. Thumbs up for that, but I wasn't expecting any less. Mountain blew everyone's mind, but the intermission just before the mantra by a crowdsurfing chick in hotpants was kinda breaking Danko's concentration. But they quickly regained composure, and finished with something that I really liked. First a quick drumsolo by Dan, followed by a short piece of jamming that sounded like 'Forest for the trees'. After walking offstage, they came back on for an encore. Last three songs had their effect on the crowd that really moshed hard. The show ended with a classic Dutch scene, Danko posing with the flag around his shoulders. More to come, photo's and a clip of 'Never too Loud'. (edit:) Youtube clip of Never too Loud is up! Hi Fatty and the rest, thanks for putting up the setlist! But what i was`wondering about is the opening anthem, when they come on stage. Does anyone know what it's called and by who? The closing anthem, when he's carring the flag is offcourse "I Put A Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, but could someone please tell me the artist and songname for the opening anthem!
grtz Rowan
