hi all. just been having a word with a fello fan - bronwen, and we both agree, that this site is a lot better than the new site, so scrap the new one and just use this one, alot more reliable and easier to comunicate better, and more up to date, bronwen tells me the new site is full of porn spam, so forget that one, and when you touring next danko in the uk ? you doing the malmo festival at all this year ?

Well, I'm still going to use this one too...this board is my spam free chill out zone now. As I told Beers, I complained about the spam on the new board, then I logged in from my phone a few days later and found 'site moderator' written underneath my name.... they could have asked me first, lol. I then got really paranoid because it appeared I hadn't been given any moderation tools (  ) and thought that one of the spammers had hacked into the site and played a prank on me for complaining about them. Then I was rather upset because, as the board was filling up with some really dodgy posts, it was looking like I couldn't be bothered to remove them; nobody would've known I hadn't actually been given the tools! I pm'd another moderator but got no reply, but then the webmaster replied to another message I sent out. He said I 'should have got an automated message informing me of my promotion'...erm, I didn't actually! If they'd asked me first if I'd like to moderate I could've asked them to wait until my laptop is fixed and I can be online more often! He's now updated my permissions, and I've spent a portion of my birthday banning users and removing annoying page-long viagra adverts. So now I'm here on my sis's pc, drinking rum and coke, whinging on this board and contemplating wheeling myself up to my local rock club. I hear you guys. I have no idea what it is about Danko Jones forums on the official site, but they seem to attract spammers. If I recall correctly, that or hackers was the reason dobbs killed the original "official" forum a few years ago.
I made a comment on your post there bronwen and all of a sudden I was promoted to admin. At least I've been able to delete the spammer profiles and make some changes to the registration process now. There's still a few slipping by, but definitely more under control than before.
