So here's the deal. You can ask ANYTHING you want from Danko Jones under this topic. I will deliver your questions to the band on the 19th December and after they've answered I'll put 'em right here on this board! So this topic is for questions to The Band only, if you have any other questions, please send me IM. It's your party, my friends! ROCK! Please note: the results of this Q&A will be published on the band's home site @ dankojones.com as an exclusive. We must thank the band and especially Dobbs for this thoughtful gesture - Rocky If there are going to be a lot of questions, I'll pick out the best ones... So try to thinkthinkthink and give your best shot! Don't be shy! Though Danko Jones may always say "no comment" ;D Thank you! -milkei

Excellent idea milkei. This surely is a unique way for us to get to know the band even better. So here is my question: Q: When u guys write these terrific songs that we all enjoy so very much, do all band members get involved in this process, for it must be a major task to put it all together?

Q: How many songs did you record for WSB. And how many songs didn't make the cut?

Back for #4 already...been waiting a while for this chance, lol: Q. Even though you guys are considered by many to be the best pure rock band in existence, you somehow get shutout time after time at award shows. We all know the reason, you refuse to 'sell out' like so many others, we admire that in you, how do you feel about this aspect of the biz?

Phewy...this is really hard Q: You guys ever did a "bad" gig? Q: Ever thought of expanding into a 4 member band, or does this formation suites you better? Q: Danko, during "Mountain" you get all fucked up, what the hell are you thinkin' of? Q: Damon, you play on a very small drum-kit, any philosophy behind that? Now, that wasn't so hard after all...

q: Do you have any plans on selling out? And if so, when will the Danko Jones action figures be available.

the excitement ;D Q - I saw you live in your first ever performance in Portugal. How do you feel when you're going to perform in a totally new country ? Do you get even a little nervous regarding the "unknown" or you trust in your amazing kick-ass live performances that get "everyone on your side" ? Q - What was the best gig you ever did and why ? Q - How do you feel about the whole Sex, Drugs & Rock n' Roll ? Do the three of them really have to go hand in hand, or do you guys stick with just the sex & the rock n' roll ? Q - (for danko) When was the song Mountain "born", and when was the first time you performed your mantra "this heart gets stronger, this skin get thicker, this mouth get louder" ? Are you aware that it makes people's jaw fall ? Q - When will you release a Danko Jones live DVD ? Maybe with the whole video collection there as bonus if that's not too much to ask ? I think that's enough, but there's more stored if needed

I know I would! I'm not ashamed of that though - Danko himself has admitted to buying KISS dolls! ;D
Huge news indeed milkei! This is a great idea and you are just the person for it. Some good questions so far. I would like to put in another vote for marci's DVD question - good one, girlie! I also like JFJ's question of would they ever add a fourth member.
As far as the touring questions, I wouldn't recommend getting too specific. Everybody wants to know the next time the band is going to be in their specific area - that's a given. A more succinct question might be "What are your touring plans for 2004?"
More suggestions: Q. Would you ever record a studio version of Mountain?
Q. There hasn't been a Danko Jones ballad since If I Were You, will you ever record another?
Q. Do any of the band members have girlfriends and if yes, how do they make it work with their touring schedule? (I can't believe one of the girls didn't think of this question first!)
Milkei, what are some of the questions you want to ask?

oh, i would buy Danko Jones action figures ;D lol, as to the girlfriends questions, it didn't even cross my mind. But i don't really need to know that, in my danko jones' dreams, the guys are always single, that's good enough for me, don't care about reality

Ooooh, what a shiny idea! A lot of people already asked questions I wanted to know so here's another one I'm curious of:
Q: What's the band's own favourite Danko Jones song/album?
By the way, we girls dun ask that kind of things because we're afraid they'll answer that they've been married for umph years *grins* No, actually, I dun think they'll answer that anyways.

It's so funny you thought of this idea M...I was just thinking the other day "Hey...our site is getting so popular, we should try to get some kind of interview hook up goin on." So you guys read my mind....SPOOOKY... Hmm..you know...after all these years of being a fan, you think I would've read every interview possible - but I haven't...so please excuse if my questions seem a little juvenile...but here are the things I personally would like to know...if they've been answered before, let me know Q: Where do you guys get your inspiration for most of your songs - from personal experiences/situations or are they written from general observations about relationships? Q: How did the band come together and what were the motivations behind wanting to be a band i.e - did you guys come together for the sex, drugs, rock n roll mentality or simply for the love of the music? Q: If you guys weren't musicians, where would you like to be career wise? And where do you see the band in 10 years? Q: What have you learned the most about the industry and yourselves from your experiences? Q: Tell us about one of the most memorable experiences from touring/live shows. Q: How do you see yourselves as comparitive to the industry and others before you? Hmm..that's all I can think of for now..if it were up to me I'd probably ask more personal questions, because I love the band so much I'd really like to know them on a personal level, but I respect people's need for privacy to some degree, so those are my choices for now P.S As a comment, if I could tell the band something, I'd just like to say I love their music to death, I think their live shows are unbelievable, and I hope they continue to rawk for years to come. I wonder if they truly understand how amazing their music is.

I'd love to have more personal info too, Spun. I'd still like to know Danko's name and all of their ages. Maybe they'll come clean someday. But until then...
Q. What CD's have you guys been listening to lately?
Q. The version of Love Is Unkind that appears on Born A Lion is a lot shorter than the version you used to play live. Why?
Q. If you could put together your own 'Dankopalooza', what are some bands you'd like to have on the bill with you?
Q. Danko, if somebody offered you a movie roll, would you take it?
Q. If P-Diddy asked you to do a song with him, would you do it?
Q. If you could go back and redo any early material, what songs would you change and how would you change them?
Q. Will you guys ever slow down a little? Or did you mean it when you said "I'll take a break when I die"?
Q. When can we expect the next Danko Jones record?
