Hey Gang!
Ok, I know I've been away for awhile but we're still just decompressing from 5 years of non-stop touring and I must admit I'm enjoying the time off.
But we've also started writing the new record and we're very excited. I know every band says this but these are some of my most favorite tunes we've ever written!!!!
I'll be doing a podcast in the next few days which will hopefully get posted by early next week too.
We are also going to be overhauling the www.themagicalworldofrock.com site in the coming weeks (or months?) so stay tuned for that. In the meantime here is the April schedule for the MWOR. I should note that last week's scheduled "Dallas Green VS Danko Jones" show has been moved to this week! It was a great talk and Jay Richardson at Power 97 did a wicked job putting it together!!!!!
APRIL 4 - SUPERGROUPS
With Tommy Lee's Rockstar: Supernova polluting ears, the term "Supergroup"
gets thrown around faster than you can say "Kickstart My Heart". Here are
the real bands that defined Supergroup. And...uh...if you bought that
Supernova album, just return it, we know you want to.
APRIL 11 - HORROR PUNK
When the Misfits broke up in ____ and then again in _____ they managed to
leave an indeleble stamp on the punk rock collective psyche spawning a
genre unto itself called Horrorpunk. Danko samples cuts from its
disciples.
APRIL 18 - THE SIX SINGERS OF SABBATH
Everybody knows Ozzy is the signature voice of Sabbath, but not too many
realize he sang on 8 of the 18 Sabbath records. Who sang on the rest?
Listen this week to find out!
APRIL 25 - SIX DEGREES OF DEEP PURPLE
Take the marvelous Deep Purple family tree in all its glory and follow it
through it's inevitable end and I guarantee there are some very
embarrassing endings.
