I've heard of them, should be good. I'm hoping to get some ink done soon enough, probably some design with a certain arrangement of musical notes, or at least something that represents (my passion for) music in general. I've contemplated the notes being the bassline of Lovercall...

DO IT LOES, but go to a good artist so u get exactly what u want. Well there are different artists who have different skills. I just like kats portrait work. I find with portrait artists - its really hit or miss. But I've been browsing online lately...man there are some great artists out there. Wish I could do that kind of stuff. I'd tattoo myself and everyone around me.

I just started watching a couple of months ago and I'm addicted now. And Kat is hot as well as incredibly talented.
I've been wanting to get a tattoo for 15+ years now and never taken the plunge but I'm determined to make it happen sometime this summer. Not sure if it'll be something music related or something to do with my mom, who died five years ago. I'm a U2 fanatic and want to get something to do with them but I'm not 100% sure what yet. I'm leaning towards something to do with one of the graphics they used on their All That You Can't Leave Behind album, a suitcase with a heart in it. This graphic has a lot of personal meaning to me but it's pretty straightforward and not the most artistic thing in the world. But I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be, right? I'd also like to do something Bruce Springsteen related but I'm not sure what. A portrait of him (or Bono) is something I wouldn't do. As someone mentioned, portrait tattoos are hit or miss and I like the idea of the tattoo not being so "literal" (as in someone not immediately knowing what it's about upon first glance).
One idea I just thought of recently while listening to the mantra from "Mountain" was getting the words "This heart gets stronger, this skin gets thicker" done as a tattoo. That line just seems like it was MADE for ending up on someone's skin. I'm not sure if the "this mouth gets louder" part fits my personality, though. lol

Ya, maybe loudmouth should get the "this mouth gets louder part." I think the biggest part of tattoos for most people is just getting that first one. After that you're usually addicted. So if you want one, I say just jump in and worry later. You can get an artist to make whatever you want, look the way you want. For the most part, first tattoos are never the greatest ones anyway . They're usually just the most memorable. But I think you should maybe save a memorial tattoo for a later date, and give yourself time to have a really good idea of what you want, because it will be very meaningful. The japanese one I'm designing is my memorial one.

I know, I remember you at lees. Running around, arms flailing...scaring everyone with your yelling abilities. I was terrified. I think you should get the tattoo as motivation to speak instead of just using sign language all the time (the finger).

Terrified eh? ;D I think I should get that tattoo to remind me to speak up for myself more. Too bad I'm afraid of needles

K sorry for blabbing on so much in this thread, but tattoos seem to be interesting for me lately. Theres the other show inked. And one of the stories on there was about a lady who wrote a book, and challenged the readers who wanted to participate: to tattoo one word from the book on a part of their body, then take a picture of said tattoo and send it back to her. Each word was randomly selected and sent to various people, I'm not sure if the work is completed in its entirety yet, but the end result is like a living novel connecting random strangers across the world to one story. And I thought that was one of the kewlest ideas for tattoos I ever heard.
