Is it just me...or does everyone and their granny have tattoos these days? I remember a time when tattoos had some shock value...it was rare to see people with sleeves and so on. Heck, in the olden days only criminals 'sported them. But now...everywhere you look somebody's got some ink somewhere and I'm not sure what I think of this. While I do love seeing all this beautiful artwork and fine detailing of fine artists, I wonder if some of it is wasted. Part of me feels like hey, you have one life to live, might as well do whatever makes you happy...but part of me cringes when I see these 16 yr olds with like pics of daffy duck on their shoulder or whatever. And then there are those people who take tattooism very seriously and practice it to the extreme where it is very deep rooted in spirituality. I think I lie somewhere in the middle - like do whatcha like, but make sure it's something you want to live with the rest of your life, and have some meaning behind it, because it is a part of you ...and #1 rule...know yer artist (I found that lesson out the hard way) What do u guys think? P.s I think I want more work done..lol ;D

Before I moved to Vancouver Island (2000) I never wanted a tattoo, but now I have 3 of them and I am about to get my 4th one (a birthday present from my boyfriend). All of my tattoo's have a special meaning to me. And I also realize that when I get old and wrinkly, that it might not be the nicest thing to look at, but I am living for today. The majority of people down here have tattoo's or piercings (and I'm not talking just about ears ). It's a personal choice, and that's why we live in Canada, because we have the freedom to do so. Who knows, in a couple of years having no tattoo's may be the new fad?? I never thought leg warmers would come back!!

True, I do believe the un-tattooed will be the next fad. I however won't be joining the in-crowd when that day comes. I already have 2 which I adore, and have designed a couple more, but am still in contemplation mode with what should go where...and with the idea of sleeves. When I get old and wrinkley, I'll still be 'sporting my tattys and piercings...I'll be tha baddest granny on the block in my rocker with my bottle of tequila...lol Leg warmers went out!!! ? Why wasn't I notified of this!
