Before the new DJ album comes out to us mortals, there is a recomendation from me to listen to... The new [glow=green,2,300]Entombed[/glow] album has just got out here in Sweden (and Europe?) and its called "Inferno". That band really kick some good ass, and they have been getting better and better for each new album! I u guys want some good ol' death rock n' roll, thats the band for u! Dont think they are THAT famous outside Sweden, but they are considered one of Swedens best hardrock bands!!! I even saw mr. Danko Jones wach them from the side of the stage, on a festival last summer! ;D ;D ;D

I haven't heard the new album yet... Speaking of heavier Swedish music, I'm eagerly waiting for Nine's new album to come out.

Thanks for the link! (How nice are you?!) I had heard the song and seen the video but I didn't have the MP3. When I first heard the song I was thinking that it was kinda too dark to my taste (I'm not much into metal, rock/hardcore/punk are closer to my heart) but now when I listened to it, it just sounded like Nine, just great! (Maybe it was the video that made me think it was too gloomy or just my mood at the time, I don't know.) Hey, can you recommend me some songs from Entombed? I have heard some over the years but haven't been too impressed... I have a feeling that I haven't heard the band at its best...

Well thats a tricky one! I have 9 albums with them, and thats not even all of them! ;D If you like them rock' n rollish, its something from the " Same Difference" album. Maby the song with the same name, or " What You Need". Like'm more hardcore? Then its something from either the old " Wolverin Blues" album or from the newer " Uprising". Like " Bood Song" or " Hollowman" (really good one), and " Say It In Slugs" or " Come Clean". They have made a buch of nice covers as well, with " The Night Of The Vampire" and " God Of Thunder"(Kiss!) as my personal favorites. So you have a lot to choose from now... Hope it helps a little bit!

yo Sac, you said there was a discussion going on about Entombed here, well I ain't seeing no discussion! You said it all in your last rep. !
ah, Wolverine Blues, one of those records I take with me where I go..
I'm not TO enthousiastic about Inferno though. like it, not great anyhow..

OK, not a real discussion yet, but we could start one! I think "Inferno" is better than Morning Star, though... You say "Wolverine Blues", the I gotta say "To ride, shoot straight and speak the truth" as one of the masterpices...

you really think it's better? dunno... I mean, inferno is a good album, but to me, it doesn't seem better than morning star.
anyway, clandestine & to ride are entombed's masterpiece-records. ;D

Well, i actually like both of the newer albums, but I think "Inferno" has a little more planning between the different songs. Its fun, becaus here in Sweden both the albums got skyhigh reviews, but "Inferno" is said to be the best they have made since "To ride..." and that got to be alot! ;D

Sac, you'll love this: I had an interview with Danko by phone yesterday, and check out this clipping, from that interview! Have you got any great metal albums lately that you’d recommend to the MetalRage.com readers?
The new Entombed record, Inferno. I LOVE Entombed, it’s so fucking heavy, in such a great rocking way, they’ve got this kind of rock thing about them that I love. The riffs are metal, but they ROCK.
check out the entire interview @ www.metalrage.com

HAHA! Thats great! You guys see? Entombed are the f**king masters! Even mr. Jones himself lik'em.... Thats a good interview Lex, lucky you. The closest talk to rockstars I have had, is partying with Entombed on a show here in Sweden. They're great guys...

Nah, it just take a while to get the songs folded around your heart. ;D You should try a few songs from their cover-album, " Sons Of Satan Praise The Lord". Alot of different songs in there, like that Kiss cover. But anyway, everybody can't like them, so I wont hate you if you don't...

Good! I'm sure you will come to a wise conclusion about ENTOMBED, the hardest band in the northern hemisphere! ;D All I can say is, I like'm....

I'll second that request. They've had so many good notices by the fine folks on this board that I have to give them a listen - and I've been listening to heavier rock recently anyway. Sac was raving about those guys back when there was nobody here to hear him!
EDIT: By the way, who moved this thread into Other Genres? Shouldn't this be in Rawk N Roll?

Happy now Tidy? ;D Atlast you guys have realised that you should bow before the might of Entombed! For starters you should check out their site at www.entombed.org, and after that little ride maybe its time to listen to some tracks? You can do that at the very nice fansite www.entombed.com. Its a little slow on the updates (1.5 year) but its still sweet... Now when you'r really hooked its time to buy some albums. I recomend to begin with one of the masterpieces, the cool "To Ride, Shoot Straight And Speak The Truth". After that its just to buy the rest of them! BTW if you dont find any songs you like check out some of their awsome covers like "Kiss - God Of Thunder", "Roky Erikson - Night Of The Vampire" or "MC5 - Kick Out The Jams".They'r sooo cool all of them!
