good show tonight.
Pennywise The Circle Jerks Ignite Brown Brigade
Brown Brigade only have a demo out right now, i think they may be a local act. they did mostly covers - did RATM and old Iron Maiden and were pretty good at it. Ignite were great, good sound and nice banter with the crowd. The Circle Jerks were hilarious. the singer was off his nut and some of his chats between songs were longer than the songs themselves. He was also a singer in Black Flag so they did a fair amount of Black Flag tunes too, which was nice because i never got a chance to see them live, but it was my 3rd time seeing TCJ, first time in like 20 years - didn't know they were still around. and Pennywise absolutely rocked! everyone was all pumped and loud with cheers for them, and i had a great view of the mosh pit from the 1st balcony @burton Cummings Theatre. some kids jumped up on stage and danced around a bit one by one, and then dove into the crowd. i think they all got ejected from the show after getting onstage, which was too bad because they were having fun. one kid lost his balance and fell over the bass player's mic stand - that made me laugh my ass off as he was pushed back into the crowd afterwards. Pennywise played all their great tunes, Society, fight til you die, perfect people, every single day, fuck authority and so on. the last 3 bands on stage all had something to say about the troops in Afghanistan & Iraq, all supporting the troops but not the politicians who sent them there. all of them were anti-Bush. Ignite did a nice cover of U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday after their speech.

... but it was my 3rd time seeing TCJ, first time in like 20 years - didn't know they were still around. Me neither, I remember me and my brother listened to them when we were still living at home which was ehhhh....18 years ago. I think I still have a tape of them somewhere ;D

16 nov - Unleashed, Dismember, Grave and...
ENTOMBED!
I finally get to see them in a club! Saw them at with full force 3 years ago, and they were great. But they entered stage at 3pm, which is just plain wrong. Now I can't wait to see them in an athmosphere more...suitable.

I noticed on one of the flyers we got Tuesday that Eagles of Death Metal will be back here in February. Will most likely get tickets for them as I missed out on them last time. Anybody else going?

I have the new cd and I wasn't exactly impressed. I prefer the oldies. I was very impressed with the new cd, brutal stuff, great production! Yesterday's show was kickass, the Effenaar was turned into a complete warzone during Hatebreed.. ;D Openers Unearth were also highly amusing..
