I have been a Montreal Cadadiens fan for a very, very long time, heck i think i bleed red, white and blue. It is a firery and passionate city for hockey, seems every season is packed with controversy, usually fueled by the French media who always favor their local players the most. Latest target is unbelievable, he's the bravest lil' captain in the teams history...Saku Koivu.Koivu has done everything it is possible to do for hockey in this city and has also worked hard behind the scenes to help kids with cancer. And he has been through hell and back to do it, including his own bout with cancer. Recently Saku was involved in a little incident at practice, with one of the local sweethearts, Mike Ribeiro...the french media has whipped Saku for this, now some of these fans are booing him..he feels so very bad that he is actually nervous playing home games now. This is sickening to me, if they do not let up soon, he will probably be traded...if that happens, i go with him...no matter which team it is....jeez even Toronto...good luck Saku....God bless you!

Come on rocky!! Surely you must have a reason for liking the team. After all it is a team sport and you can't change just because a player gets traded.

One of the TSN guys was going off on Montreal fans tonight too rocky. I wasn't aware that Koivu was the "bad guy" in the incident, according to the media. One guy even had a sign that said something about trading Koivu. Man, that sucks. Fans like that don't deserve a winning team!

I´ve seen those pics before, and at one pic you see that he attacks Koivu first and then Koivu gets pissed off and attacks him...

I'm a huge Habs fan and I'm actually going to a game March 20th in Montreal versus the Devils.
I think the whole incident was blown out of proportion. I don't think either player was at fault. In fact Saku was the agressor in the incident.
The fans that booed Saku were a small minority. Nothing to be taken too seriously. He will not be traded because of a few boo birds.
