Danko scored better than the Peppers. Hell yeah. I catched the end of the Peppers' set on TV and they were really boring, Kiedis' singing out of tone, just like some of the guitar stuff...The drum solo was funny, but that's was the only amusing thing what I saw...Peppers= boring!!

Will listen to the gig asap. Thx for the post. To bad we couldn't make it ... but you know...money....laura....time!! We weren't there but on Sunday I do not know what happened, every time I had to check my watch...."ohh just 1 hours and than Danko Jones starts!" Hope you guys had a great time! And I'm getting more depressed , we are on Holiday during Lowlands! I'm happy to go on holiday to Spain, but I'm sad that we cannot meet Danko, JC and Dan again! Hope that they come back soon!

Hmm, I can't help but still loving the Peppers. I love my funky music, especially funky basslines, and that's what the Peppers still represent for me. Flea is still one of my biggest heroes on bass.
Yeah, they have become a bit more mellow since their comeback with Californication. I doubt they will ever be Funky with the big F again, don't think they will ever release legendary funky shit like Give It Away again. But you know why? They're too old! These guys have been on the road for more than 20 (!) years. They used to live a lifestyle that nearly killed almost every single one of them, and did in fact kill one of their guitarists, Hillel Slovak in 1988. I can't blame them for discarding that lifestyle and mellowing up.
But, having bought the latest album a couple of weeks ago, I can tell you that there are still traces of their musical past woven in there. And having seen yesterday's gig on tv, I consider them a band that deserves the outmost respect. For a bunch of old farts, so to speak, they still give one hell of a tight show.
Or at least they don't suffer from the Chino Moreno Syndrome, which clearly showed during the Deftones gig yesterday. Now there's an example of somebody who didn't grow emotionally since releasing his first album, he decided just to grow physically in the bad way I guess, seeing that stuffed piglike face of his. What makes him think he can still pull off jumping into the crowd like that, revealing his ugly fat ass, and showing up drunk on stage all the time, not being able to carry a tune? I swear, Deftones probably lose dozens of fans with every concert they play.

I don't know if Chino was drunk on stage at the pinkpop fest, but he sure as hell needs to buy a good belt and don't have his pants drop down lower than his asscrack. There are several things I wish to see before I die at a ripe old age, but seeing Chino's bare hairy ass isn't on that list...

Yuck. I hate RealPlayer but I'll check it out. I just got this great program for my Mac called Audio Hijack Pro which lets you save streamed audio as MP3's or AIFFs (WAV for Mac) files so hopefully I can get a decent sounding recording out of this.
The Chili Peppers have always bugged the shit out of me. Aside from the fact they do nothing musically for me I just hate watching them perform live. If there's such a thing as being "overly physical" on stage, that's them.

instead of real player, get 'real alternative'. it's a light & slim program that does everything you need (without fucking up your pc)

Looks like they don't make it for Mac.
Anyway, I got it ripped to MP3 okay. Unfortunately, it's 96 kbps but it still sounds pretty decent.
