Hi Folks,
Bit of news for you today:
THE MAGICAL WORLD OF DANKO JONES
Danko Jones gets his own bi-weekly radio show on the Swedish radio station Rocket FM! The show actually aired for the first time on November 7th but I was out of town when the announcment was made so you're getting this a bit late. The show will air bi-weekly, on Fridays.
Every show will have a different theme and the name of the first show is "The Top Ten Rock Singers Of All Time". In the coming weeks we'll be hearing such gems as Black Flag's "My War" track for track, The Big Four (East vs West Coast Thrash Metal) and Iron Maiden's "Powerslave" track for track.
Tune in at 95.3 FM every other Friday at 4 PM CET (16.00) or listen to the show on the internet at www.rocket.fm
If you can't listen to the show when it airs, you can listen to it afterwards at the Rocket FM site by streaming audio.

OTHER MUSIC
As mentioned last email, I'll be using the space at the bottom of these mailouts to highlight some other bands that I think DJ fans might want to check out.
Last issue, I focused on Toronto-based The Constantines (www.constantines.ca). This time around, I'd like to get you all to visit Shikasta at www.shikasta.com. Also Toronto-based, Shikasta has been playing for a few years now and they put on a superb live set. They've got one self-released CD out and have another full-length that they just finished mixing and they're looking for a label to get behind it.
I've heard the whole record (unmixed) and thought it was great. Some demos can be heard on their site. Give them a listen and if they're passing through your town, pop in and give them a watch. They're a lot of fun live.
And, since Shikasta has yet to play outside of North America and DJ has many fans in Europe, I'll give a shoutout to NY-based LIARS (www.liarsliarsliars.com) who will be playing some shows in Europe throughout November (click the 1 on the phone on their site and scroll down a bit to see the dates/cities). LIARS are an absolutely amazing band. Run to see them.
That's all I got today, folks.
