In one sense I agree GBV....and I agree with JFJ - they arent dogs - they don't need a treat. But when it comes to mainstream and indie - honestly - with movies and music - I don't really discriminate with either. A good movie and a good tune are good no matter who creates them. Mainstream stuff usually is made more with a "consumer" mentality yes...but some people may even consider Danko mainstream because his stuff gets radio play. In any case the fans will let the band know how much they are loved and appreciated, that in the end will be the "reward." So screw the Juno's WE LUV U DANKO JONES!

With regard to Tidyman and GBV's comments, couldn't agree more. Middle of the road is most popular because most people are in fact middle of the road fence sitters whose next opinion will be (among) their first. At the risk of generalizing, the logic seems if you keep your mouth shut and follow the huddled masses, you'll never be wrong - but never right. What a boring life that would be?
By the way, did anyone SEE the Grammy nom's? Good God...Warren Zevon, Sting...what year is this?
