I recently got a cool program for my Mac called Audio Hijack Pro that lets you save the audio from stream broadcasts to your hard drive as MP3s or AIFF files. Now, I hate listening to streams because a lot of the time you can't fast forward or rewind and, in general, it's just a pain in the ass navigating those things so what I've been doing is saving the streams available from The Magical World Of Rock archives (www.themagicalworldofrock.com/archive.htm) as MP3 files and listening back to them that way. Although it's a little bit of work it's just much easier to listen to.
Now, this would definitely be a work in progress as there are close to 50 podcasts available at this date and I've only converted seven so far, but would anyone be interested in getting a copy of these shows when I'm done? What I'd do is leave each show as just one big MP3 file (too much work to split it up track-by-track plus Danko's commentary) and then fit whatever I can onto a DVD-R (or two).
It'll be $20 for the set which I'll be making available on eBay.
Just kidding. ;D Maybe we could set up a "vine" to circulate the disc(s), meaning whoever is interested signs up for the vine and then it just gets mailed from person to person. I've been doing this vining thing for about four years now over at a Springsteen forum I'm on and it's a GREAT way to circulate bootlegs. I went from having zero Springsteen boots to about 350 now (including other artists). It's been like crack man, highly addictive. But the people participating need to follow up their end of the agreement by updating the vine and keeping the disc(s) moving in a timely manner.
Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. Give a holler if this sounds like a cool idea.
