If you know who the Watchmen are then you probably are aware that they are on their goodbye tour right now as they are disbanding at the end of this year. Last night was their last show in Winnipeg, MB (where they are from and started). It was pretty good - three or four encores (I lost track after awhile)! They finally had to finish because Danny Greaves' voice was shot after 2 1/2 hours on stage. Their surprise guest of the evening was their original bassist who left after their first album. He came up and played a couple of old songs with them. I was hoping that drummer Sammy Kohn would show up too, but he didn't. That must have been a bitter split when he quit a couple years ago. Anyway, an awesome show which was a big mix of old and newer stuff. They actually played alot of their old songs that I had never heard live before. They still have some dates left in Eastern Canada (Toronto and Ottawa I think) so if they are coming to your town this is your last chance to see them. It was a great show!

Where did they play? And your name is Blaine right? I'm Adam, I think I saw you at the 3 Danko shows that were close together.

GBV: about your "falling stars" comment, I agree with you. I used to be a huge fan and Joey Serlin was a big part of me learning to pick up a guitar, but the last 2 years have not been good to them. Personally, I remember when I first listened to their last album (Slomotion) I recall thinking that they are done. When they go a direction with the sound that alienates their very talented drummer to the point where he feels he has to quit the band it's got to be pretty bad. After seeing them with the touring drummer a few times it just wasn't the same.
y2gray: They played at the Pyramid. And shh... you'll spoil my secret identity! Yeah, I probably saw you or met you. I recall seeing some of the same faces in the front row of all those shows.
