It's good to see Danko back in Paris. It's been a while since WSB tour...And it's good to see they 'll play @ Le Trabendo because it's the bigger venue the band has played here(700 people).Their last gig took place@ Le Nouveau Casino(w/The Bronx)which is a 350 p. capacity venue.A few months before they played @ La Guinguette Pirate,a boat on the Seine. It's a club where you can pack barely 150 people, and there isn't even a stage.I think Danko remenbers that gig because the audience was right in front of him he could touch them. When the band started playing the first song everybody started jumping and the boat was pitching!I think the band was really impressed by the atmosphere this night, there was as many waves in the crowd as on the river."You're so crazy tonight!" said Danko.Hell yeah! The first headlining DJ show in Paris was @ Le Glaz'art(BAL tour) and we were about 50 people there...Motorhead was in town too.I didn't know anything about the band except a few lines I read in a paper"...Thin Lizzy versus The ramones...".It was enough for me to be persuaded to go,and I had a blast... As you can see Danko Jones is not as big in France as in Holland or in Sweden but he's getting bigger because he has persisted.Thankyou. The band is now in the south part of the tour,it would be interesting to know what reception the audience and the medias gave to the band,in these countries that has to be conquered.:Spain,Portugal,Italy(hey, going back to your roots signore John Calabrese? ). See you on Saturday Danko,JC,Dan and Loes & Beast.

It's the morning after now, and I'm still feeling wasted... We had an awesome night yesterday! Le Trabendo is a pretty awesome venue, it holds about 700 people and there were probably around 500 there yesterday. I quickly found a comfortable spot sitting on some speakers, I could see it all! Even when a security gorilla decided he'd sit right in front of me. They were'nt too nice, those gorillas... Anyway, the show. I was surprised to see a Dutch band called Voicst starting of the show. They were quite boring, but not too bad I suppose. The drummer was a nice guy, we hung out with him for a bit after the show and he gave us their cd. Tokyo Dragons were a different story. They ROCKED live, 10 times better than on cd. They reminded me a bit of Deep Purple, and that's a huge compliment coming from me. Coolness. And then... Danko... Ran into Danko himself when we were about to enter Le Trabendo and he seemed SO exhausted that I almost thought the tour was starting to take it's toll. Almost, that is. Because these guys, they would even give a kickass show if the world was about to explode. The setlist was pretty much the same as for the Holland shows, except that they played 'Sugar Chocolate' instead of 'Bounce' like they did in Utrecht and Eindhoven. They simply rocked. And I think the rest of the crowd thought so too, because they seemed to have one helluva time. I mean, the gig wasn't sold out, so at first I was a bit worried about what the Frenchies would think of some tightass rock. But I saw lots of faces even singing along, and just having a great time, so that's cool. It was also a day of meeting cool people. I'm glad I had the chance to meet Danko, JC and Dan again, especially Dan at the moment because I needed his autograph to complete my collection. That and he's just such a laidback guy! He doesn't mind talking to fans at all and he's just really nice, I never had the chance to meet Damon, but from what I've heard, we're better off with this puppy behind the drums. And I was very glad to meet Manu, another very nice guy. He rocked his head off just like me and we had some drinks afterwards, which was cool. Cool to meet Milkei again as well, even though she keeps bumming cigarettes off me. That's no problem, she knows that. So yes, we had one helluve time here in Paris. I know seeing Danko will be better than seeing the Eiffel tower, Notre Dame, Père Lachaise (going to pay good old Jim Morrison a visit today), Sacré Coeur and all the other stuff together. Because Danko Jones is Danko Jones, they rock and don't smell like pee unlike the other things mentioned. I'm out, kisses to all

Here are 3 pix. I only got the chance to shoot 3 songs, which was ok, but pissed me off a bit as some thingy (female fake photographer with no decency what so ever, stepping on Loes' bag and stuff, just ask her about it...) next to me did get to shoot all the show and I didn't. Anyway, the light was terrible, so I guess I made the pix come out ok.

Tokyo Dragons were a different story. They ROCKED live, 10 times better than on cd. They reminded me a bit of Deep Purple, and that's a huge compliment coming from me. Coolness. Isn't that the band that supported Danko in the Netherlands too, about 2 years ago? Real nice review Loes! Makes me feel like I missed something Enjoy the time you've left in Paris!

The Paris show was real fun to do. Great seeing Loes & Beast. Just wanted to write in and say Podcasts, new Radio shows, new everything is coming. This tour has been very intense for us so give me some time to catch up!! Glad you guys are able to meet up with Dan. Yeah, he's a very down to earth cool Dude.
Tokyo Dragons rock but it was Electric Eel Shock that opened for us in Paris in 2003 and the Bronx opened for us in Paris in 2004.
Stay tuned for the Podcasts for more rambling!

Ah, thanks Danko. Electric Eel Shock at the Effenaar (NL) was the band I confused with the Tokyo Dragons.
Can't wait till the new site is up, hear your new podscast about the tour, and see everything else new that is coming. Good luck with the upcoming shows, and see you again at Pinkpop!
