I just noticed that Danko is playing the NxNE Agency Group Showcase in Toronto next week. How does the ticketing usually work for the festival? The ad in Now lists tickets at $10 but there's nothing on sale through Ticketmaster. Is that $10 at the door only? The festival's website isn't very informative. If I buy a $28 wristband does that get me into the show guaranteed? And would Danko Jones be doing a full set? I don't want to go to the trouble of leaving work early (I work an overnight shift), driving all the way downtown and paying close to $30 for a 30 minute set or anything. So many questions...

Thursday June 8 at the Horseshoe they're playing a 2 am set! It's not on the official site yet so I guess that's still tentative. But I may have to pass on that show. Why must I work for a living?

If its 2am its most likely a headline set so my guess is 1 hour + long show. The wristband will get you into any venue during NXNE but if you show up too late and the venue is already full then you're out of luck.

The Nickelback tour warm up show was a 2am set at the Horseshoe as well. That was also Dan's first ever DJ gig. That set was about an hour long, if I remember. It will be a good show for anybody that can make it out...

FYI
The 2am gig was actually the warm-up for the Euro spring tour. It ran for around 75 minutes(remember Gordie Johnson?) Dan's first gig was only a half hour gig ~ same venue ~ went on much earlier. That was the warm-up for the Nickelback tour.

That's right. Your memory is better than mine riffwagon. Seems like at the Horseshoe, they're tacked on either at the start of the bill or at the end of it. Whatever, it's hella cool seeing them play in a smaller venue like that.

Just a note to say that this is a confirmed gig and is now on the site. My computer's been borked so I was late getting out the news. It should be a standard-length set for NXNE, I believe, which is 30-40 mins.

That's what I was afraid of. Dammit. I was actually going to use the excuse that I "had to go to a funeral Friday morning and needed to leave work early to go home and get some sleep" to make this one (I work 8:30 p.m. until 5 a.m.). Guess I'll save that for another time.

Just to tip anyone off that was thinking of heading down to the Horseshoe tonight for Danko's set at 2am. It has been cancelled and Danko Jones will not be performing. Due to unforeseen circumstances the show had to be called off at last minute. Everyone was looking forward to going and apologize for anyone who had made plans to fight their way into the Horseshoe tonight.

I hope the unforseen circumstances were nothing too serious.

Bet he had been shaking his head too fast. I always thought he'd give himself a whiplash some day, but eyes popping out? Must have been one helluva show. But seriously, get well soon Danko. All the best from Holland.
