there's a typo - should be Transcona Inn. Actually, it's called CanadInns Transcona, the club is MyBar.
But anyway, i was posting to ask if anyone knows who the support acts are for this tour. i'm excited, got my tickets yesterday, and my buddy will be seeing DJ for the first time in Edmonton on the 15th.

what a show tonite! DJ actually did an encore after they played Bring on the Mountain! first time i've ever seen Danko do an encore....must be because he loves Winnipeg! he did Alive and on fire and Rock Shit Hot... he started off with Sticky situation.
i think i almost got arrested for scalping tickets before the show...showed up at 7pm because 2 of my buddies couldn't get out of working tonite, so i tried selling the tickets outside MyBar...sold one, and then at about 8pm, the cops pulled into the rear of the parking lot, so i bolted and headed inside....i didn't want to hang around to see why they were really there because i don't want to lose my gaming commission license (which may happen if i get charged with something) which would mean i would lose my job @ the casino.
he had me laughing my ass off about the Porno Pizza.... we have a pizza joint that delivers pizza with porn photos underneath the pie, and Danko went on about it and how he was disappointed that Taylor Rain didn't personally deliver it to him...
A couple of guys got "grounded & pounded" by security for moshing...i guess it isn't allowed at CanadInns bars - it happened right in front of me as i stared in disbelief, and Danko saw some of it going down and didn't look too pleased. i've been to Pennywise shows and Rise Against shows where there's been moshing and this was so tame in comparison.... WTF is with you CanadInns?
so it cost me $30 to see Danko Jones, but it was worth it! i would pay even more to see them... was i just blind, or there was no merchandise being sold at the show? i didn't see any for sale at all...

It almost seems like the band opened with Sticky Situation in your honor grinchy, considering what you had just gone through ;D...so if the guys did an encore after Mountain, then most certainly the crowd must have been in a frenzy coz this is so rare, yep definetly worth 30 bucks, heck way more if necessary...and Taylor Rain, nice one , of course i don't watch that kinda stuff myself, bad for the heart

I have a busy day today--school and then my 2 part-time jobs so pictures most likely won't be going online until later tonight or tomorrow. I, unfortunately, did not manage to get a setlist but from what I remember: Sticky Situation, Baby Hates Me, Play the Blues, Lovercall, Rock Shit Hot, Bounce, I'm Alive and On Fire, Mango Kid, Cadillac, She's Drugs, Invisible, The Cross, Woogie Boogie, Wait a Minute (I think!) Lots of oldies. Canadinns is the big chain of hotels/young people bars in town and as such, they have strict policies on what you can wear (no gang-type clothing) and there is no way you're getting in with a fake ID (the only way you can manage is getting in with the band ) That's also why their security was so h-core, I think they deal with that all the time, and they don't want any riff-raff (who does? I didn't want to fear for my life/safety of my camera like at Queens of the Stone Age!) I think the most awesome attendee yesterday was this dude wearing jeans, a white t-shirt, a leather jacket, and a red bandana...total Joey Lawrence lookalike (whoa!) that kept my sister and I (and JC!) amused for quite some time with his crazy inebriated dancing. Awesome. Time to hit up class, but stay tuned for pictures.

Hey 'peggers. I have the official setlist from the Calgary gig and am posting it in the Calgary thread. I'm sure it's the same or similar. Just so y'all Manitoba fans know.

Crazy show - fistfights in the crowd... and that dude with the axl rose getup was hilarious! (you had to notice the guy with the 80's leather jacket, shades, wifebeater, and headband)

It was probably right behind you. Over near Danko's side of the stage and about 3 or 4 people back from the stage. It was during Bounce - that's why Danko went "whoa..." in the 1st verse. There were a few guys in the middle who started really shoving and getting into moshing and I guess the guy in front of them took exception. He turned around and just SHOVED the guy behind him and he went sprawling. Next thing the guy is on his feet and coming at the dude in front like he seriously wants to go. The security LEAPED through us and almost landed on top of my wife and sister-in-law. They grabbed the dude who was further back (the original mosher) and... bounced him out of the club. There were like 3 security guards on him and I think he might have gotten a few knees to the gut in the process.

Danko: "Who wants to be like Ben Mulroney?!? I want to be Ben Mulroney! Dude's got like no problems! ...Cement hair... but no problems!"

lol that was right in front of me and about 6 feet to my left. i got pushed when he shoved back. thought they were just buddies moshing about, couldn't see because i almost fell down there. seen worse at Rise Against/Billy Talent/AntiFlag @ MTS Center. that night i saw a shoe soar above the crowd, then 3 minutes later a girl with 1 shoe on came by looking for it as i pointed to the other side of the arena. lmfao
