You know my answer continuously changes when asked this question. I love so many I can't pick a fav, everyday it's something different. I really luv the song "my time is now"...it gets me so hyped! The I love when they're live and Danko does the song *this heart gets stronger, this skin gets thicker, this voice gets louder* I scream that song at the top of my lungs when I'm there, I hope it doesn't annoy them..lol! I have never gotten sick of either cd I have. I wonder if they'll ever get sick of performing? But hey, u guys should check out the illuminati. They are amazing too, they were performing with DJ at the last show, and they got me dancing to their tunes, so u know their half decent...and DJ also thinks they're the best band, so if u don't believe me, believe them!

LOL, 'too much trouble for sure', its way too hard to narrow it down to just one tune, they are all so great. I picked 'bounce' but that can change in a minute, or the next time I listen to any DJ music, prolly will. ;D

bounce sex change shake cadillac soul on ice word is bond caramel city would be those I'd pick if I had to decide for 6 DJ-Songs. (which, of course, is a quite 'uncomfortable' task )

I think its soo cool that they have a "Live Only" song. The moutain song is defenetly one of my favorites, and I try as hard as i can to shout along every time they play it! Lets hope it doesn't come out on a album anytime soon, becaus i think its something extra the crowd on the livesets should be rewarded with... I wonder if it would sound any good on cd? Sex change shake is also a top number ;D

As you can tell by the quote at the bottom of my posts, I'm a fan of Mountain too. Danko must've been in a particularly bitter mood when he wrote it.
It's kind of cool that they have a treat for the live audiences, but I would love to hear them record a studio version of the song. Maybe release it as a B-side or a bonus track.
Until then I'll just have to stick with my 'live from Pinkpop' mp3 of it.

I don't know for sure, Sac, but I would bet cold hard cash that it's a Danko original. It's got his (their) signature style and sound all over it - but it's the lyrics that make me so confident. All bitterness and swagger and perserverance - it would have fit perfectly on Born A Lion. But I suspect we'd have to post the question on the official Danko site to find out for sure.
Rocky, I found the mp3 for Mountain on Kazaa about a month ago but every subsequent search I've done has come up empty. The only thing I can think of is give me an email address via private message and I'll upload it and send it that way. That goes for anyone else that wants it too.
Peace, out.

Heh.
No shame in it, bro. I wish more of us older folks could see and hear what we already know: Danko rules!
The last time I was this excited in anticipation of new music from an artist was Public Enemy in the late 80's and early 90's. I am a big music fan, but artists rarely grab like that any more.
That's how I know that Danko Jones are the best rock band on planet earth, and you do too. That's all that matters.

Great music knows no boundaries, imho, over the years they come and they go, but I've never heard anything as awesome as Danko Jones, period.......Public Enemy, old skool rap turns my crank too and lots of the new stuff is worthy as well. We need to get busy in our hip-hop category cause this influence is here to stay. Cheers.

I think the lengthy 10-minute ish version of Love Is Unkind he did years ago on stage is dyno-mite. Too bad it's so shortened on Born A Lion.

Wish I could've heard that, GB. Love is Unkind is one of my faves because of its lyrics, and now you're telling me there used to be more of them! Oh well, I still love it.
Sounds like you've been a Danko fan for quite a few years. I'm a relatively new fan myself - I started listening just before I'm Alive and On Fire dropped. And unlike most, it wasn't the live show that converted me, but the songs themselves, which I first heard on a local university radio station.
I'll never forget my first live show though. Hearing Samuel Sin and Lovercall (for the first time) live was damn close to a religious experience!
