I bought Hultsfred off of ebay, VHS, ya know. Thinking I was special by winning this auction, I later realized he had another video up for sale. Upon recieving my tape I found the recording to be brutally dubbed, and the tape quality awful. Of course, the music was still amazing, so I had to keep it - but shouldnt we take this guy down? Although, he could be a member of this board!?!?!

No, I wasnt saying he was on this board. Just covering my basis if he was... But I couldnt believe that I didnt win an original video tape. I was even more disappointed when I say the same auction up the day after I received the tape. Let's take him down. cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3379272585&category=41650 Here's the item...he's got two up right now

Halfway Mango Kid it stops... & that first half shure is good, the band is definately ON! one of the best shows existing I think... now I'm looking for the other half... I WANT IT!!!Downloaded the "Townhouse Girls" too, & my guess is it's a DJ original too!

I've got the whole thing but it's one file! I'd love to separate it into individual song mp3s but I don't know how.

that's not to difficult Tidy, if you have some WAV-editor. - first you convert the MP3 into WAV - than you chop the file into pieces - rename the different pieces & save - & convert them back into MP3 but you got to have the editor... BTW; the whole file is ok with me too!

If somebody wants to set up an ftp server to share with everyone, I have about 10 or so Danko shows that I recorded between 1999 and 2001. Most are pretty awesome quality and I have a short soundboard recording I did as well a few years back.

Sounds all very interesting! The time has come to gather all our stuff & put it up somewhere were we can easily upload/download/share our DJ bootlegs. Read some stuff about how to do it, but if I'm not mistaken, free webspace costs money? We just need someone with the right knowledge to run such a thing! BTW; where did you record these shows Pealer? did you rip the soundboard show yourself at a gig? Where are you from btw & sign up eh?

Here are most of the shows, though I am sure I did a few in 2001 as well as one from this past fall in Toronto.
March 18, 2000 Kitchener Lyric, The March 31, 2000 Newmarket Lava Lounge, The April 13, 2000 Barrie Foundation Nightclub, The April 19, 2000 Peterborough Sin City May 14, 2000 London Call The Office June 24, 2000 Oshawa Crow's Nest, the September ??, 2000 Barrie Foundation Nightclub, The December 15, 2000 Toronto Warehouse, The February ??, 2000 Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens
The soundboard show is only 15 minutes because my media had a defect that wouldn't allow it to record any more than that. I'll make sure it's okay to send these shows out 1st.

Hey guys ! I wonder if any of you recorders know tips to help me improve the quality of a live recording (like telling me which levels of each frequency i should turn lower or something like that in an equalizer), because I'm itching to share the recording me and my boyfriend did of Danko's gig in Porto, Portugal in october, 25th and I just want to make the recording just a tad better. The problem with it is these sorta "claps" (the bass) here and there, it's not in a quantity to make the bootleg unhearable at all (it sounds very nice otherwise), but it's enough to be a lil' annoying. I've been trying to come up with a good "combination" in the equalizer, but i'm just guessing and hoping for the best results (which never come ). If you know about how to fix this lemme know, if needed I'll gladly send a sample of my "problem" so I can make the bootleg the best possible and then share with you guys

Downloaded a very cool DJ show from Soulseek! It was recorded live at Visions Festival, Dortmund 2002; tracklist; 01. The Rules 02. My Time Is Now 03. Samuel Sin 04. Sex Change Shake 05. Play the Blues 06. Sound Of Love 07. Bounce 08. Word Is Bond 09. Lover Call 10. Way To My Heart 11. Cadillac 12. Mountain Man I wish I attended that show! Along with DJ, there was Prong & QOTSA & some others all at one night at one venue!! Soundquality isn't all that good, but with some pollishing it sounds okay! I downloaded a version of "Way To My Heart" from the same gig ealier on in much better soundquality & it was labeled "Visions all areas Vol.35" which means it's probably from some obscure sampler. Anyone happens to have the whole gig in that same good quality?

Hey guys ! I wonder if any of you recorders know tips to help me improve the quality of a live recording Cool you made your own "boot" Marciana! Now improving a not so good recording is a bit tricky... First of all, every person hears different. Some people like bass, others like it a bit more on the high end...but you can never make an audience recording sound as a sounboard or broadcast recording allthough it depends on what equipment you used during recording but you allways have the annoying clapping noices of the audience standing right beside you & the accoustic limits of the venue etc. etc. Professional recordings are taken straight from the mixing board and are recorded on multiple tracks for each instrument. So when a guitar is a little behind in the mix you can isolate it and put it up a bit without adjusting the others. Amatures like us however haven't got these tools (whish I had my own studio... ) So like you said you can only manipulate the sound with EQ. I got a 5 band graphic & parametric EQ on my Editor & basically the left bands are the low (bass) parts & the right the highs. The middle is more vocal/lead guitar. The more bands you got on your Equalizer the more possibilitys... But don't expect miracles, I tryed a lot of stuff but most of the time it just gets worse. If you do try however which is fun to do anyway, than do it digital not analogue! Compressing also gives the recording a little more extra punch sometimes. Just experiment with it till YOU think it sounds good! Looking forward to hear it!
