Ok..well what I said was "More than usual" and what I meant was: I used to pay like $10-12 for a danko show...$25 is more - and I wondered why. I'm also bringing a friend..so explaining to her a $25 show of people she doesn't really know...wouldnt be all that alluring. $16.50 is fine. But also baller..u have to remember im ghetto hip hop..I only go to cheapness...I haven't seen half the bands I like because I am too poor to afford going. I saw Qbert for $10 and I think: if the best dj on earth can play for that cheap...theres no damn good reason for these $150 bullshit shows. You're not that fuckin special people! Qbert IS special and on sale! Sorry for the $25 info mixup...I got my info from tidy in chit chat...maybe he was guessing at the time too and I just took it for solid info. Either way..no harm, no foul. I am going....and spending more while I'm there on merchandise. And I am in the boat with natty...I live on a microscopic budget. So don't hate me cuz Im cheap...hate me because Im poor

We totally understand if financial woes are keeping you from any gig. God knows I've been there too many times. Having John on stage with us is gonna be fucking awesome though. That's my Christmas gift to myself. ha ha.
Danko

;DOf course, SPUN. Totally agree with you.
I just love people (not you) who say "I cant afford to go to the concert, or hockey game (20-40) dollars... then go spend 200 bucks at Lulu lemon and come home with 2 things. Or spend 100 bucks on alcohol/drugs in a month. It's just priorities... I know. Anyways, glad to hear you're going and also glad to hear that I am not the only one who gives Christmas gifts to himself!
Tidy... whats the scoop on the limo/free place to stay/free beer? If I am paying that much for a plane ticket... come on brother! ;D

In the long run, what's an extra $10 to see John friggin' Garcia? You could panhandle for an hour and probably make enough money to go see the show. I know shelling out extra cash sucks but this is a pretty special event.
It also looks likely that Brock is going on strike so this show is starting to be more of a possibility.

How to sacrifice (if need be) to afford a ticket for the Dec 5th show a) Don't buy coffee for a week to neglect your hangover. Fight through it. - Savings of $8.00 b) Laundry, it can wait the extra week - Savings $10.00 c) Just say "No" to the one legged, toothless midget prostitute that hangs out on Queen West....No matter how intriguing the thought...Savings - $7.00
Thus a savings total of $25 and access to the the finest Rock Show of 2006, with your dignity.
It is possible people. I made it happen. Unless you are that prostitute and she was looking to you for money to get into the concert. Then she is out of luck. But then if she is outside the night of the concert I'll be the first guy to try to hide her in my coat.
Stay Classy!

Ya, those people are lame (lulu lemon)...though I will kind of b guilty because I want to buy merchandise, so why am I whining about the ticket?
You put a good spin on it stay. Although, maybe I can get a loan from the toothless prostitute...I'm sure she makes good money. Either way...I'm excited to go...hope I get rocked...and then come back and make fun of myself for questioning $25. Mango...exam? Come on. If I can wait on laundry...you can study an hour b4 the exam. I would rather have one hr sleep and enjoy a damn good show..than wonder how good the show would have been if I had went.

Spunrock thinks a ticket is $25 because that's what I told her when she asked me on msn I included all the ticketmaster charges, which on my tickets break down like this: For two tickets: Face value: $33 Facility fee: $2 Covenience charges: $12.10 Order processing fee: $3.50Total: $50.60 Don't get it twisted, I'm NOT complaining. Like baller, I'd pay double that for this show (by the way, I'd love it if you flew in for it, dude!) The only thing that sucks is that the 3 bands (+ guest), their crews and the Mod Club all have to divy up $33 of my money, which means ticketmaster takes $17.60 of it. This is why nobody (except maybe ticketmaster) gets rich playing rock any more.

Well thats usually what pisses me off about "supporting" artists in general...they aren't the ones making the money. Like what -they get 2 cents out of every cd sale? How much do they make off ticket sales? I'm paying for convenience ticketmaster...if so..then you should deliver the shit to my house personally with a smile...that would be convenient..instead of me taking the bus and dealing with one of your pretentious salespeople. Wtf is an order processing/facility fee...you might as well be a utility company with all your random useless charges.

The worst thing is, is that if the show is cancelled, you only get the ticket back, and not the service charge. Which is insane. Ron

Hey there, newbie to the board here. Everyone seems real nice. I'm checking out the show tommorow with some friends, but was wondering if anyone had an idea of when DJ will hit the stage (ie. setlist times) Anyone know this? There's just the one opening band, right?

TicketRaper bit me yesterday too, but am in with GBV.
10:30 show time for Danko Jones tonight, so don't anticipate the usual midnight-at-Lee's start. You'll miss out if you do!

so 10:30 is the Danko set time? what is the Illuminati set time?
and yeah, the Ticketmaster service fee seems abnormally high for the event...explains why i pick up most of my stuff at Soundscapes or Rotate This....rather put the extra buck or two in those pockets.
was going to head to a Ticketmaster outlet to pick up a few tickets, but now am curious what tickets will be sold for at the door...maybe i'll wait till then, be interesting to see if the "at the door" tickets will be less pricey.
